Day 3 of the 5 AM Club

It's amazing how much easier it is to rise at this early hour after a good night's sleep!

One of the things I am trying to do more intentionally is to pay attention to the synchronicities that show up in my life. I seem to find myself on a lot of email lists lately and most of the stuff just gets deleted. One day a podcast came across my e-desk and I felt very compelled to listen to it. This was my introduction to Robin Sharma and the 5 AM Club. I felt deep down that this was a message I really needed to be heeding. That afternoon, I went and bought the book so that I could implement the ideas into my life starting the next day, hence my jumping in with both feet here.

At the most basic, the idea behind the book is "Own your morning. Elevate your life." By taking that first hour and making it "me" time, I am able to exercise, meditate and do personal growth work, setting the tone of the rest of the day so that I can be really productive. It's the 20:20:20 principal. 20 minutes of exercise, 20 minutes of meditation, 20 minutes of growth work (Ted Talks, Inspiration Show videos, inspired reading, etc.) In one hour, I have taken care of my body, mind and soul...something I definitely wasn't doing consistently in the past.

The past two days have been more productive than I can remember being in a long time. Yes, maybe it's just the novelty of the whole idea, but I think there is more to it than that. When I have filled my own well, I have a lot more to give to my family, my business and my community.

How are you filling your well?
